Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, internal control, and taxes.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS & GAAP.
- Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies to maintain integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain and manage adequate accounting provisions and accruals
- Ensure full compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and corporate policies
- Working with internal and external auditors; support audit processes and facilitate timely resolution of audit findings.
- Manage internal audit and compliance reviews, ensuring timely remediation of identified gaps/risks and full application of required controls.
- Lead account reconciliation with key strategic vendors and licensors.
- Satisfy periodic and ad hoc corporate and MENA financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate closely with departments such as HR, Supply Chain, and Sales & Marketing to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with the Group Tax Team and external tax consultants to ensure accurate tax calculations, reporting, payments, and audit defense
- Contribute to minimizing the company’s Effective Tax Rate (ETR) by applying optimal tax planning techniques in accordance with local tax laws.
- Develop and maintain a high-performing accounting team aligned with the company’s values and strategic goals
- Developing and maintaining a talented team which understands the company’s values and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus).
- 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience in handling external audits, tax planning, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost efficiencies.
Preferred Experience:
- Industry experience in pharmaceuticals organizations.
- Experience with multinational organizations.
- SAP user experience is a strong advantage.
