Automation Engineer

About the Job

The role involves executing automation and industrial IT assignments, including drafting technical specifications, programming industrial automation systems, and developing interface applications. Responsibilities include proposing technical solutions, participating in supplier consultations, standardizing installations, and aiding in the commissioning of equipment at customer sites. The position also entails conducting testing, providing training on automation equipment, debugging source codes, and managing project modifications. The individual will engage in tendering and pricing activities while reporting on project progress and identifying potential risks to ensure compliance with client requirements and propose innovative solutions as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible of carrying out automation and industrial IT assignments, such as:

• • Drafting technical specifications (hardware and software, including coding and software production.
  • rules) and functional / organic analyzing of the various automation and supervision projects.
  • Proposing and implementing technical solutions in accordance with the client's specifications.
  • Participating in the establishment of technical files for supplier consultations.
  • Performing industrial automation programming of the various subsystems and updating the existing source codes.
  • Developing interface applications with an object-oriented language.
  • Participating in the standardization of installations and continuous improvement.
  • Participating in the development and commissioning of the equipment in factories and customer ‘site.
  • Participating in the tests and commissioning of the subsystems.
  • Providing training related to automation and supervision equipment.
  • Debugging source codes during installation and warranty phase.
  • Managing deviations and modification requests and applying the necessary changes until the final approval of the project.
  • Drafting automation equipment list (including their references), software versioning, etc…
  • Participating in tendering and carrying out pricing activities.
  • Reporting to his manager and ensuring monitoring and traceability of its files/codes.
  • Analyze/track the client requirements (including tender technical document) and ensure the proposed.
  • design is compliant (propose corrective/innovative solutions if needed).
  • When identified, propose innovation.
  • Report his/her activities (progress, variations, technical issues…) to his/her manager.
  • Alert in case of risk identification (schedule, design, equipment…).

Desired Education and Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics. MBA, Masters or Diploma is a plus

Experience:

• 2+ years’ experience of electrical and mechanical systems in construction, industrial, or rail sector.
• Good knowledge of automation technologies and control systems.
• Experience in automation project participation (design to implementation).
• Good in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLC programming tools).

Language Requirements:

• Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.
