About the Role
We're looking for a highly skilled Chinese Translator to help us facilitate seamless communication between our English-speaking and Chinese-speaking stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who possesses exceptional linguistic precision, cultural understanding, and a keen eye for detail in both languages. You'll be translating a variety of materials, from business documents to marketing content, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness in every conversion. Key Responsibilities
- Translate various materials, including but not limited to, business documents, marketing content, technical specifications, and general correspondence, from Simplified and/or Traditional Chinese to English and English to Simplified and/or Traditional Chinese.
- Ensure all translations areaccurate, culturally appropriate, and maintain the original meaning, context, and tone.
- Conduct research to ensure the correct use of terminology and cultural nuances.
- Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure high linguistic quality and adherence to style guides.
- Manage translation projects to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and team members regarding translation queries and project progress.
- Maintain confidentiality of all translated materials.
Requirements
- Native-level fluency in Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional characters preferred) and exceptional proficiency in English.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a professional translator, preferably with a focus on business, technical, or marketing content.
- Strong understanding of both Chinese and Western cultures.
- Excellent written communication skills in both Chinese and English, with a strong grasp of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using translation memory (TM) tools and terminology management software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ).
- Experience with remote collaboration tools.
