What you will be doing
- Assist in developing and maintaining scalable, efficient data pipelines under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes.
- Learn and apply data quality, governance, and validation best practices.
- Contribute to the development of data models for structured and semi-structured data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Follow best practices in version control (e.g., Git), and apply principles of DataOps, DevOps, and MLOps.
- Document data workflows, pipelines, and key learnings for future reference.
- Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and trends in data engineering.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of programming in Python or SQL.
- Exposure to data integration tools or scripting techniques.
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL database concepts.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred but not required).
- Interest in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, GCP BigQuery).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and embrace challenges.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time management.
