About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented GIS Web Map and Application Specialist (Part-Time) to support our geospatial data initiatives and GIS application development. This role combines traditional GIS analysis with modern web mapping technologies to deliver comprehensive spatial solutions.
Job Duties
Conduct spatial data analysis and editing using GIS tools like ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
- Design, Develop and maintain web-based mapping applications using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise as well as tools like ArcGIS Experience Builder.
- Manage enterprise geodatabases on SQL Server and Postgres SQL to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using ArcGIS Dashboards.
- Publish and configure map services and feature services for various applications.
- Generate comprehensive web maps, reports, and data visualizations for stakeholders.
- Work closely with data engineering, data science, product, and software development teams to ensure seamless integration of GIS solutions to use in our internal products and workflows.
- Engage proactively with team members for feedback and be comfortable with hands-on training and tutorials.
Requirements
Must Have
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- 1-3 years of experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise and web mapping applications
- Experience with map caching and tile generation
- Strong understanding of spatial data formats, projections, and coordinate systems
- Experience with SQL and spatial database management on SQL Server, Postgres (PostGIS) or similar tools
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and focus on quality
- Strong ability to work independently with a self-starter mindset
Nice to Have
- Degree in GIS, Geography, or related fields
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data processing
- Knowledge of web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas practices and regulations
- Experience in project management
