Job Purpose:
Leads and deploys best practices in the manufacturing process by supporting continuous improvement in various manufacturing processes by reducing the tooling costs and improving the flow of material and setting up cycle times
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide functional leadership with awareness, knowledge and guidance of Lean principles, methodologies and tools to support achievement of ABS and facility objectives
- Coach, train, and mentor cross-functional teams in proper use and application of Lean or Six Sigma tools including, but not limited to, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work, 5S, SMED, Kanban, GEMBA meetings, , DOE (Design of Experiment), Problem Solving, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and TPI (Transactional Process Improvement) throughout the facility
- Develops semi-complex analysis and reporting tools that enable before/after analysis of process changes in distribution
- Prepare plans, process specifications and procedures, production aids and assembly fixtures, conduct MRP support studies, factory cost work standard development and assignments of similar complexity
- Compile and evaluate test and production data, prepare technical analysis, and recommend manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes
- Engage with the workforce to achieve successful implementation of Kaizen events including the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement by eliminating waste and increasing cycle times
- Conduct analysis or tests pertaining to the development of new methods, materials, processes or standards and provide recommendations accordingly
Job Skills and Abilities:
Lean Manufacturing tools background is a mandatory
Excellent communication with workers
Qualifications:
- Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering degree
- Lean Manufacturing tools background is a mandatory
- 2-5 years of experience
