Terms of Reference
- Liaise with the Resettlement unit focal point for MAF on a regular basis to keep records of the needed MAF submissions and MAF reporting status;
- Upon receiving the request, the MAF should be completed withing two (2) weeks or less. If a case warrants emergency processing the MAF shall be completed within three (3) working days or less.
- Consult PoCs medical reports for whom a MAF is required with the support of UNHCR’s Public Health Unit, partner clinics medical directors, doctors and medical secretaries;
- Contact by telephone the PoC and arrange for a MAF visit; or as needed through a home visit to the PoC, with the support of the Resettlement unit focal point for MAF and partner clinics personnel if the PoC is bed-ridden;
- Call upon the PoC for a complementary history and examination in order to complete the MAF;
- Compile all supportive specialist, laboratory, diagnostic imaging and other test reports needed for completion of the MAF;
- Search the internet for all supportive reliable medical litterature; include relevant extracts in the dedicated sections of the MAF, including supplementary tests needed, disease progress and complications, treatment lines, prognosis etc. to better inform the MAF recommendation;
- Liaise with the Resettlement unit for coordination and any necessary procedural step;
- Reach out to UNHCR's Public Health Unit/ Resettlement MAF Focal Point for support, or for coordinating complementary specialist referrals for assessment or diagnosis, for which any obstacle may be encountered;
- Perform any other duties related to MAF preparation and submission as requested by UNHCR Resettlement and Complementary Pathways Officer ' Head of Unit.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Faculty of Medicine graduate; in possession of a medical practice license from the MoH.
- Minimum 3 years in practicing medicine; proficient in reading and writing English.
Key Competencies:
Extensive medical knowledge and skills; sensitivity working with refugees from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
