All about the role:
An Oracle Applications Database Administrator is a SME responsible for:
Supporting Oracle EBS and other applications and systems. This includes sizing, tuning, patching and other maintenance duties of production and test environments' databases.
Managing Linux OS. This includes install, configure, upgrade, patch, and secure servers.
What you'll do:
Hands-on experience managing R12.2/ Oracle Database 19C/Oracle Single Sign On (SSO), WebLogic Administration, Oracle OBIEE WL Admin, Oracle WCI - Administration, Oracle 19C core DBA exp, Managing day to day AWS Infrastructure exp for all Oracle Databases.
Provide ongoing support and enhancements on Oracle database used by our enterprise systems landscape (Oracle E-Business Suite R12).
Perform routine administration and performance monitoring activities to ensure optimal operation of the Oracle databases.
Provide advice and guidance where necessary to development staff.
Provide support outside of normal office hours on a pre-planned basis and at short notice in emergency situations.
Complete tickets assigned and other requests within a mutually agreed upon time.
Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for databases.
Contribute to the setting of standards for definition, security and integrity of database objects and ensures conformance to these standards
Manage database configuration including installing and upgrading software and maintaining relevant documentation.
Monitor database activity and resource usage.
Optimize database performance and plans for forecast resource needs
Identify areas for process improvement and work with the EBS DBA Team and supervisors to improve and automate where possible.
Design and implement database structures while ensuring high levels of data availability.
Manage Oracle database servers and technology, implementing new technologies and processes for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Ensure database security, including developing policies, implementing protective measures, and conducting regular audits.
Perform database maintenance tasks, such as backups, restoration, tuning, and upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with IT and development teams to enhance database and application integration.
Able to develop SQL and PL/SQL scripts for Alerts, Monitoring, Reporting & Auditing
Install, patch, upgrade, configure, tune and maintain the Oracle E-business Suite R12.2 and 19C Oracle databases
Able to automate day to day DBA tasks
Serve as day-to-day technical lead for enhancements or problem resolutions. Analyze, design, develop, test and implement application enhancements
Deploy code and setup changes to production
Participate in system administration and operational support (e.g., maintenance and support, reviewing and analyzing system logs and problem reports, adds, changes, backups, and file restores) and assist in monitoring of the system's performance and capacity planning
Evaluates and implements new technologies, products and tools used in the application development environment
Analyze performance issues in the application, concurrent manager and database tiers of E-Business Suite installations. Manage resources to help development teams with tuning database queries, reviewing and testing patches, configuration and code migrations.
Proactively monitor applications and provide a regular report to developers highlighting where changes to the application will benefit performance.
Manage database backups/restores and disaster recovery in cooperation with infrastructure team.
Proactively monitor and report on system resources being consumed. Provide early warning of resource contentions and shortages to management with recommended course of action.
Identify problem trends and proactively take action to reduce re-occurring incidents.
Refresh non-production environments from production.
Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
7 -10 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Strong understanding of Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Demonstrated proficiency in supporting an ERP environment (specifically Oracle EBS R12).
Experience in deploying Oracle Forms and Reports via Oracle Application.
Experience in deploying and maintaining Apache and Tomcat is a plus.
Good working knowledge of Red Hat Linux as it relates to the installation, operation and administration of Oracle Database and Application server products.
Knowledge of ITGC and IT audit processes and procedures.
