About the role: This role will report directly to the Creative & Brand Director. The purpose is to proficiently execute the end to end development of the NiLS seasonal collections, as designed by the Creative Director, each collection consisting of innovative, premium women’s apparel across all categories.
As the sole Product Developer, this role will be a pivotal to bringing the NiLS vision to life, at the highest quality. Owning the entire development process, the scope of the role includes below: • Initial Fabric and Trim sourcing • Detailed CADDING & Comprehensive Techpack Development • Trim, labelling & Artwork Development • Range board Development • Liaising with a dedicated Garment technician to build detailed specifications • Elaborate & consistent factory liaising during entire development process • Managing all Fittings – 1st Proto, SMS & PP and managing comments with Garment Technician. • Managing costings and achieving margin requirements • Adhering to Critical Path Deadlines • Following product through to final shipment sample.
This role will require meticulous attention to detail, a keen eye for contemporary high-end fashion, fit & garment construction coupled with exceptional organisational and time management skills. Whilst not a design role, a solid understanding and natural eye for premium detail, finish and design is still essential.
To be successful you will ideally have the following skills: • At least 5 years’ experience within a similar role, within the womenswear category managing the development of product fully, end to end. • Design qualification with strong experience in Adobe Creative Suite and comprehensive technical sketch & CAD development. • Experience with Offshore garment manufacturing, factory communication & price negotiation. • Expert knowledge of garment development, fit & construction • Meticulous attention to detail & strong organisational skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines • Passion, genuine interest & understanding of design, fashion & womenswear. • A creative affiliation, interest & understanding of the NiLS aesthetic.
