Regional Manager North Africa - Carlsberg Export & License, Egypt (Cairo) based - Middle East & Africa Business Unit

 

Carlsberg Export&License has an ambitious growth strategy in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) and is looking for a dynamic personality with solid project, marketing and sales skills. You will be responsible for supporting the profitability and volume growth of our highly successful portfolio of global and local brands in close cooperation with the local partners in the North African markets.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

You are offered an opportunity to support and drive the long-term profitable growth of our business in the region. Together with your internal stakeholders within Carlsberg Export&License and Carlsberg Group and with our local partners, you will be responsible for developing & driving some of CE&L’s export and license projects in the MEA region.

 

One of the key responsibilities will be to lead the expansion of our newly founded license production partnerships in the territories, particularly in Egypt, Morocco & Algeria. This means collaborating with local partners and internal stakeholders on vertical and horizontal expansion, building substantial brand and category positions in each geography.

 

You are expected to be an expert within the field of FMCG, with both experience and passion within the alcohol and non-alcohol categories. This will enable you to support and drive our partners in many areas of growth, such as;

 

Possibly adding resources and a team lead to support brand ambassadorship to ensure high-standard execution in trade. Overall, serve as lead for each of the markets, which puts no boundaries to creative strategic thinking, for which you are expected to drive strategy initiatives from idea to execution, to accelerate our growth within your region.

 

The above demands a high degree of presence in the markets, in the trade and among the end customers and consumers. This role is expected to be both navigating efficiently from the market as well as transmitting information and insights upwards in the system, as well as translating such insights into opportunities to facilitate our growth.

 

In addition, among other responsibilities, proposing a budget, facilitating brand planning process, securing brand asset toolkits and local adaptation, managing sourcing/export workstreams and innovation projects, driving contract negotiation with support from our legal team, facilitation of reporting, etc.

 

What we’re looking for

 

We expect you to combine a Bachelor's degree / Master’s-degree within Sales & Marketing with 3-5 years of Business Management, ideally with a couple of years’ experience within the Beverage or FMCG business in a similar role.

 

You preferably have an established network in the region to be able to immediately engage and initiate step-change projects for your region.

 

As a person, you have a positive mindset, are strong in communication, empathic, and creative. You are also self-driven and very action/result-oriented and possess analytical skills.

You are effective at building partnership relations and possess good negotiation skills. You are a team player with solid strategic sales/marketing and project management skills.

 

You have a high work capacity with a low stress level. You are fluent in English and French, while Arabic is preferred.

 

You can travel between a minimum of 100 days a year within the designated territory plus occasional trips to our regional HQ in Dubai as well as Copenhagen.
