What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in PHP Laravel to design, develop, and optimize backend systems for scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will lead backend initiatives, mentor junior developers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP Laravel.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and other stakeholders to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
- Manage and maintain databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including schema design and optimization.
- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications.
- Stay updated on emerging backend technologies, Laravel updates, and best practices.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of professional backend development experience.
- Proven expertise in PHP and deep knowledge of the Laravel framework.
- Strong understanding of OOP, MVC architecture, and software design principles.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good understanding of application security principles and performance optimization.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of Docker or containerized environments.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit, Pest).
