Area Sales Supervisor
The purpose of this role is to execute the Area Trade Marketing & Distribution plan in alignment with regional objectives, ensuring the achievement of brand, volume, and market share targets across trade channels through efficient and effective utilization of resources.
Position:
As the Area Sales Supervisor in the Sales Department, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
Business:
- Implement an area Trade Marketing & Distribution plan aligned with regional objectives and the overall Trade Marketing & Distribution strategy.
- Achieve targets for availability, visibility, volume, market share, product quality, and customer pricing within the area.
- Provide comprehensive trade marketing and competitor activity reports to keep the Management team informed.
- Deliver accurate forecasting to optimize stock availability at distributor warehouses, ensuring freshness at the point of sale
Leadership:
- Monitor and evaluate the Trade team’s performance to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Manage, train, and motivate a high-performing trade marketing and distribution team through coaching and development.
- Ensure effective communication of objectives, directions, and action plans through regular meetings and structured communication
Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to maximize volume, visibility, and in-store presence.
- Manage distribution relationships at a branch level to maximize brand availability in the market.
- Collaborate with other Area Supervisors to share knowledge and maximize synergies
Innovation:
- Develop and upgrade tools and processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Continuously enhance the execution of sales strategies to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related discipline
- 5–7 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role within an FMCG company, ideally multinational
- Proven experience in trade marketing, with solid knowledge of customer engagement strategies, account management, and field operations
- Practical knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders
- Proficiency in Arabic (spoken and written); good command of English (communicative level)
Performance metrics:
The success of the Area Sales Supervisor will be evaluated based on the following:
- Sales volume achievements
- Market share growth
- Fulfillment of area volume and distribution targets
- Accurate forecasting to minimize overstocking and maximize product freshness
- Effective implementation and evaluation of monthly cycle plan objectives
- Development and maintenance of key customer and distributor relationships
- Enhancement of team competency and capability
