Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and talented Business Development Head - Human Vaccines to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission of enhancing human health and well-being, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of excellence in our industry.
Strategy & Partnerships:
o Develop and execute a market entry strategy for technology transfer (fill-finish) in Egypt, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
o Identify, negotiate, and secure partnerships with global vaccine innovators, CDMOs, and government bodies (e.g., Africa CDC, ministries of health).
Product Portfolio Strategy:
o Evaluate and recommend human vaccine products for technology transfer based on:
* Public health needs and disease burden per region
* Manufacturing feasibility and scalability
* Commercial viability and funding landscape
* Regulatory pathway complexity
o Prioritize vaccine candidates (e.g., routine immunization vs. pandemic-prevention vaccines).
Technology Transfer Leadership:
o Lead end-to-end technology transfer projects for human vaccines, including process validation and regulatory alignment.
o Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure scalable local production.
Market Expansion:
o Analyze market dynamics, funding opportunities (e.g., GAVI), and competitor landscapes to prioritize target markets.
o Build relationships with key stakeholders (WHO, Africa Union, local manufacturers).
Deal Execution:
o Structure licensing agreements, joint ventures, and co-manufacturing deals; oversee contract lifecycle management.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Align with regulatory affairs to navigate specific requirements.
o Support funding proposals for technology transfer initiatives.
Requirements
* 10+ years in business development, licensing, or strategic alliances within vaccines/biopharma.
* Proven track record in technology transfer for fill-finish operations for Human Vaccines.
* Deep knowledge of African healthcare systems and vaccine manufacturing challenges.
* Proven track record in product evaluation/recommendation for emerging markets.
Soft Skills/Core
o Expertise in negotiating complex IP/licensing agreements.
o Fluency in English; Arabic or French highly preferred.
Technical Skills/Core
o Strong network with global health organizations.
o Expertise in market analysis and product prioritization frameworks.
