Drive ESG due diligence process for project opportunities, based on predefined criteria or risk indicators.
Work with the opportunity teams to help them gather project and customer information relevant to ESG risk analysis. - Conduct thorough ESG assessments of customer project opportunities, identifying and evaluating environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret external ESG due diligence reports to extract key insights, assess risk implications, and support informed decision-making.
- Classify ESG risks based on severity, likelihood, and potential impact, and ensure proper documentation and communication of findings.
- Engage with internal teams (e.g., opportunity teams, project managers, ESG experts, compliance) and external due diligence providers to ensure ESG considerations are embedded in project evaluations and customer engagements.
- Ensure due diligence practices align with international ESG standards and frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards.
- Prepare clear, concise ESG due diligence reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, including risk summaries and recommendations.
- Stay informed on evolving ESG regulations, trends, and best practices to enhance due diligence methodologies and tools.
- Data Interpretation & Analysis: Ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets, ESG due diligence reports, and supporting documentation across diverse project types and geographies.
Risk Identification & Classification: Skilled in risks evaluation and accurately classifying them based on severity, likelihood, and strategic relevance. - ESG Knowledge: Solid understanding of key ESG principles. Familiarity with frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, GRI, SASB, and TCFD is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Reporting & Documentation: High attention to detail and proficiency in creating concise summary reports from complex and multifaceted ESG data sources.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across functions and with external stakeholders.
- Adaptability & Learning Agility: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and committed to continuous learning in the evolving ESG landscape.
Qualifications:
- Education:Qualified to a degree level in business, engineering, law, finance, or supply chain management.
- Experience: 7-8 years’ experience in research & analysis / risk management / project-based environment.
