Your responsibilities
Main Duties: Contribute to and reinforce HSSE policies, instructions and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and subcontractors on the construction site.
- Ensure that the construction site and/or pre-fabrication yard complies with all applicable local, national, and international Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental regulations and standards.
- Liaise with customer, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure that HSSE requirements are understood and met.
- Ensure the implementation of the Risk Assessment process and all necessary control measures across construction sites, accommodation and office facilities.
- Support and monitor the implementation of security requirements/plans defined for the construction site.
- Conduct investigations of any HSSE incidents, accidents, or near misses. Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with project HSSE requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of HSSE activities, including training sessions, safety inspections, incident reports, and risk assessments.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSSE performance through regular review of practices, feedback from employees, and staying updated with industry best practices.
- Coordinating the implementation of HSSE campaigns.
- Promote health and well-being programs to enhance the physical and mental health of employees, including occupational health initiatives and wellness activities.
- Establish, administer and update site Emergency Response Plan and ER Drills organization.
- Establish, administer and update site PTW System during construction and pre-commissioning.
Some of the Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Project HSSE Manager in the development of procedure, aids and material to ensure full compliance with project HSSE requirements and drive continuous performance improvement.
- Participate in the implementation of HSSE programs, policies and procedures.
- Promote and establish contractors' safety tools on-site, such as LMRA (Last Minute Risk Assessment), TON cards, and the BBS (Behavior Based Safety) program.
- Assist in the collection, and analysis of injury and work-related illness. Perform investigations and organize feedback to management and personnel.
- Participate in site coordination meetings (internal and with customer)
- Lead and moderate HSSE meetings with subcontractor.
- Ensure that the subcontractor complies with the HSSE Contractor Policy and Management System, and that HSSE aspects are integrated into the subcontractor's procedures.
- Ensure that the Risk Assessment is properly carried out for all the activities
- Lead HSSE team on site.
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (Preferably Chemical or Civil or Mechanical)
Experience in Emergency Preparedness, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity
- At least 15+ years’ proven experience in HSSE field with 5+ years managing brownfield EPC projects
- Egyptian legal HSE specialist training and advanced specialist is a must
- NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 lead auditor certifications, Basic firefighting, first aid trainings are a must.
- NEBOSH International Diploma or CSP will be an advantage
- Knowledge of TapRooT root cause analysis will be an advantage
- Strong Leadership & communication skills
- Excellent spoken and written skills in English and ability to write high-standard reports, articles, and audit reports.
- Proven experience in conducting formal incident investigations.
- Proficient in MS office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
