IT Business Application Officer

Responsibilities and duties:

Daily & Weekly Tasks:

• Analyse and assess business requirements to identify appropriate software solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and support to end-users of software applications.
• Monitor and record incidents in the service manager and perform trend analysis.
• Troubleshoot software issues and review software performance.
• Provide daily support to ensure application availability and reliability.
• Update project status, attend team meetings, and identify software-related risks.

Monthly & Quarterly Tasks:

• Implement and maintain customized software applications that meet business needs.
• Evaluate software vendors and conduct software demonstrations.
• Document software applications and provide training to end-users.
• Maintain software systems and update data backups.
• Perform audits, access reviews, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Analyze usage patterns and assess future software needs
• Conduct software evaluations and plan for upgrades or enhancements.

Qualification and Certificates:

• Bachelor's degree Computer Science or related field

Experience and Knowledge:

• 1–3 years of experience in IT application support, preferably in logistics, ports, or industrial environments.
• Basic knowledge of:

1. Database management systems including design, modeling, warehousing, and mining.
2. IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, and ISO20000.
3. Business process management and optimization techniques.
4. Project management principles and methodologies.
5. IT security and risk management practices. 
6. Systems analysis and design methodologies.

Skills and Abilities:

• Very Good English language skills (written and verbal).
• Very Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Very Good problem-solving skills for proactive issue resolution.
• Proficient in using:

1. Development environments: Visual Studio, Eclipse, NetBeans.
2. Version control tools: Git, Subversion, TFS.

• Ability to work with various IT tools, software applications, and operating systems.
• Capable of managing projects effectively including planning, goal setting, and risk management.
