Taager is the first B2B startup focused on social sellers- Merchants. We are democratizing the social e-commerce space by enabling budding as well as seasoned entrepreneurs to sell online with no required capital, inventory, or operational experience. We have our Merchants covered from merchandising, warehousing, shipping, cash collection and customer service. In 2019 we started as a team of 8 people, now we are over 350 employees across Egypt, KSA and the UAE. About the Role
To conduct detailed market research and price comparisons across various online and international platforms (e.g., Alibaba, 1688), gather and evaluate vendor quotations, and support the commercial team with data-driven procurement decisions. The role includes making online purchases when necessary and ensuring optimal pricing and lead times.
Responsibilities
- Conduct online and offline market surveys for assigned products or materials.
- Source and compare quotations from multiple international and domestic vendors, particularly through platforms such as Alibaba, 1688, and other B2B marketplaces.
- Evaluate offers based on cost, quality, delivery time, and supplier credibility.
- Prepare and submit comparative analysis reports with clear recommendations for the best sourcing options.
- Liaise with suppliers to clarify product specifications, negotiate prices, and arrange sample procurement if required.
- Place orders on verified online platforms and ensure proper tracking, documentation, and coordination with logistics teams.
- Maintain a structured database of vendors, prices, lead times, and order history.
- Monitor market trends and keep the commercial team informed about new sourcing opportunities and potential risks.
What will make you successful:
- 4+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain
- Hands-on experience with online sourcing and price comparison tools
- Strong knowledge and experience using B2b E-commerce sourcing platforms
- Solid analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate technical specifications
- Negotiation and communication skills with vendors
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and vendor follow-up
- Basic understanding of international logistics, International Commercial Terms, and import documentation (preferred)
