Operations Executive (3 Months Contract)

Informa Markets, a division within Informa, creates global platforms for industries. We organise over 500 large-scale branded and transaction-oriented events in 14 specialist markets. These are typically not-to-be-missed annual events where buyers and sellers build relationships, see and show products and do business.
We also provide year-round online platforms where companies showcase their businesses and products and buyers conduct research, generating valuable leads, and we provide data and digital content that supports the flow of knowledge and transactions in markets.
Job Description
Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Contract Duration: 3 Months
Role Overview:
Support the Operations team in planning and executing physical, digital, and hybrid events throughout the year, including providing onsite assistance during events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Coordination
- Maintain communication with suppliers, venues, and show teams
- Create exhibitor manuals and coordinate with Customer Service on newsletters
- Manage logistics for equipment, pre-show preparations, and onsite welfare
- Develop staff briefings, exhibitor lists, floor plans, and safety documentation
Administrative & Digital Support
- Support Digital Operations with webinars and virtual events
- Process purchase orders, track budgets, and update invoice records
- Assist with post-event analysis and reporting
- Address operational queries from exhibitors and internal teams
- Coordinate team travel, meetings, and training sessions
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proactive mindset with strong organizational abilities
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to events
Experience
- 1+ year in Operations within event management
- Knowledge of exhibition industry and venues
- Flexibility to work extended hours during events
- Advantageous: Experience with digital event platforms (Swapcard, On24, Teams Live, Zoom)
