Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Mechanical BIM Modeler to create and manage 3D mechanical models for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The ideal candidate is proficient in Revit and other BIM tools and can work independently in a collaborative, remote project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate 3D mechanical models (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) using Revit and other BIM software.
- Generate coordinated shop drawings, sections, and details based on engineering and architectural input.
- Collaborate remotely with BIM Coordinators, engineers, and other discipline modelers for clash detection and model coordination.
- Follow BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project standards for LOD, naming conventions, and file management.
- Update models and drawings based on design changes, redlines, and coordination feedback.
- Export and manage IFC models and assist in coordination with Navisworks, BIM 360, or similar platforms.
- Produce quantity take-offs, schedules, and documentation directly from BIM models.
- Maintain version control and organized documentation within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Attend virtual coordination meetings and provide input on constructability and model issues.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- 3 to 6+ years of experience in mechanical BIM modeling (preferably in a remote or international project setting).
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP), AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems layout, ductwork, piping, and coordination principles.
- Familiarity with BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, LOD specifications, COBie).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a professional home office setup.
