As Risk Manager - BEI, you'll play a vital role in embedding a proactive risk culture, ensuring our business decisions are made with care, and helping us stay resilient in a fast-changing world. You'll be a trusted partner to the business, providing expert advice and challenge, and helping shape the future of risk management in Egypt.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and oversight of the risk framework for Bupa Egypt, ensuring all areas of risk are identified, assessed, and managed in line with our appetite
- Act as a business-facing, independent second line function, providing day-to-day risk partnering and support
- Deliver the annual risk management plan and provide high-quality reporting to senior management and the Board
- Build a risk-aware culture across the organisation, embedding the 3 Lines of Defence model
- Support the definition and monitoring of risk appetite, including operational risk modelling and scenario analysis
- Provide effective challenge to the business, escalating risks and supporting practical solutions
- Oversee incident management and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons are learned and improvements made
- Collaborate with the Compliance Manager BEI to support regulatory change, inspections, and engagement
- Deputise for senior leadership in risk-related matters when required
What We're Looking For
- A graduate degree (BSc or BA)
- Experience in a risk role, ideally within insurance
- Strong understanding of Egypt's regulatory environment
- Fluent in Arabic and English (verbal and written)
- Professional qualifications such as CRISC, FRM, PRM, CFRP, or CRM are desirable
- Experience working within a 3 Lines of Defence model
- Proven ability to embed risk frameworks in complex organisations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong judgement and analytical thinking
- Objective, pragmatic, and resilient under pressure
- Able to manage multiple priorities and lead change effectively
