JOB PURPOSE:
The Rolling Stock Supervisor ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rolling stock by overseeing maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control. This role involves supervising technical teams, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The supervisor also monitors equipment performance, manages fault diagnosis and repairs, and optimizes team distribution based on workload. Additionally, they serve as a technical reference, providing guidance and support to the team while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose faults accurately and perform troubleshooting actions, ensuring timely resolution.
- Conduct systematic testing, verification, and validation of repairs and maintenance work.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Perform cyclical checks, detect anomalies, and execute necessary adjustments.
- Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and necessary documentation to support maintenance activities.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct quality control inspections and validate the integrity of maintenance work.
- Ensure documentation traceability by selecting appropriate codes and recording chronological steps.
- Support continuous improvement by analyzing recurring faults and proposing corrective actions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Verify the integrity of maintenance reports and address any discrepancies.
- Analyze incident history and maintenance records to support decision-making.
- Collect and transmit relevant technical information to stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and modifications performed.
Team Supervision & Training
- Provide leadership and guidance to technicians, ensuring efficient task execution.
- Facilitate the integration and training of new employees and interns.
- Foster a culture of knowledge transfer and technical development within the team.
- Ensure work is completed within set timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards.
Safety & Risk Management
- Prioritize safety in all operations, ensuring the protection of workers, passengers, and assets.
- Implement preventive measures to avoid operational conflicts and safety risks.
- Organize workspace logistics for optimal efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Railway Engineering or an equivalent technical field.
Certification in railway maintenance or rolling stock systems is a plus.
Relevant supervisory or leadership training is preferred.
Knowledge
Rolling Stock Maintenance & Systems: Strong understanding of rolling stock components, maintenance procedures, and both light and heavy (overhaul) maintenance processes.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic systems, with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
Safety & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of railway safety regulations, industry standards, basic safety rules, and Quality Assurance principles, ensuring compliance with maintenance best practices.
Maintenance Tools & Methods: Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques, general maintenance principles, and the use of measuring devices for diagnostics and quality control.
Computerized Systems & Reporting: Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and reporting tools for tracking maintenance activities and ensuring operational efficiency
- Proficiency in English & Arabic (both written and spoken) is required.
- Ability to prepare detailed maintenance reports and communicate technical issues effectively.
Experience
- Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in rolling stock maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining railway rolling stock.
- Experience in coordinating teams, managing maintenance schedules, and ensuring adherence to operational deadlines.
