Job Description
The Security Manager is responsible for developing and managing all security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and property. This role is critical during the pre-opening phase to establish security protocols, train the security team, and ensure full compliance with local laws and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Opening:
Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans tailored to the property’s needs and local regulations.
Recruit, train, and lead the security team, establishing a strong culture of vigilance and service.
Conduct security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks prior to opening.
Collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and preparedness.
Oversee installation and testing of security systems including CCTV, access control, alarms, and communication equipment.
Operational:
Manage daily security operations across the hotel premises including guest areas, back-of-house, and accommodations.
Monitor security personnel performance and conduct regular training sessions.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and breaches, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
Maintain effective communication with all departments to support a secure working environment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and legal requirements.
Coordinate crowd management and safety during events and peak occupancy periods.
Team Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and develop the security team to maintain high levels of professionalism and responsiveness.
Conduct regular drills and training to enhance team readiness.
Manage scheduling, payroll, and administrative functions of the security department.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by the leadership team.
Prepare security reports and updates for management and corporate stakeholders.
Participate in internal and external audits related to security and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Security Management, Law Enforcement, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in security management, preferably in luxury hospitality or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian security laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
