You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to unlock the power of data, build predictive models, and deliver actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced data models and algorithms to support risk management practices in the organization
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including risk management, engineering, and operations, to gather requirements and design solutions that address complex risk challenges
- Stay current on emerging trends in data science and risk management, and apply your expertise to ensure the product and team are at the forefront of industry best practices
- Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets and generate insights that drive risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure the availability, accuracy, and integrity of data required for risk modeling and analysis
- Implement and maintain data pipelines, from data ingestion to data exploration and transformation, leveraging modern data processing tools and platforms such as Python, SQL, Spark, and Hadoop
- Develop and deploy predictive models that assess potential risks, including credit risk, fraud risk, and operational risk, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
- Communicate complex data-driven insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, influencing and guiding decision-making processes
- Continuously evaluate and improve the performance of existing models, leveraging techniques such as A/B testing and model monitoring
- Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into data science projects and prioritize efforts accordingly
- Lead by example and foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the data science team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data science with a focus on risk management and analysis within the finance industry
- Strong expertise with data engineering and pipeline development tools and platforms such as Python, SQL, Spark, and Hadoop
- Solid understanding of advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and their application to risk modeling and analysis
- Proven track record of developing and deploying predictive models to assess various risks, such as credit risk, fraud risk, and operational risk
- Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative solutions to complex risk challenges
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively within cross-functional teams, including risk management, engineering, and operations, to gather requirements and design solutions
