Position Overview: 
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Category Manager to join our commercial team. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to drive sales, optimize assortment, and ensure operational excellence within the fresh food segment. 
Key Responsibilities: 1. Category Strategy Development: - Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives to achieve sales and profitability targets. - Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and differentiate our offerings. 
2. Assortment Planning: - Curate and manage an assortment of product, ensuring a balanced mix of items that meet consumer preferences and market demand. - Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize product assortment based on seasonality, regional preferences, and consumer trends. 
3. Supplier Relationship Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. - Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional support to ensure competitive advantage, product availability, and quality standards. 
4. Promotions and Pricing Strategy: - Develop and execute promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and markdowns to drive sales and enhance customer engagement. - Monitor pricing trends, competitive activities, and market dynamics to adjust pricing strategies as needed. 
5. Sales Performance Analysis: - Analyze sales data, performance metrics, and consumer insights to evaluate category performance. - Develop actionable insights and recommendations to optimize sales and profitability. 
6. Inventory and Supply Chain Management: - Work closely with planning and supply chain teams to manage product inventory. - Monitor stock levels, demand forecasts, and lead times to ensure adequate product availability while minimizing waste and stockouts. 
7. Cross-functional Collaboration:- Collaborate effectively with marketing, operations, planning and finance teams to align category strategies with overall business goals.- Coordinate efforts to enhance product launches, promotional activities, and operational efficiencies. 
8. New Product Development:- Lead the identification, development, and launch of new products that meet consumer preferences and market trends.- Conduct market research, consumer testing, and feasibility studies to drive innovation and growth within the category. 
9. Market and Competitive Analysis:- Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and market dynamics.- Conduct regular analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly. 
10. Budget Management:- Manage the category budget effectively, including promotional spend, new product development costs, and supplier investments.- Ensure financial targets are met while maximizing ROI and profitability. 
11. Customer Insights and Feedback:- Utilize customer feedback, reviews, and market research to gain insights into consumer preferences, behaviors, and shopping habits.- Incorporate customer insights into category strategies and product development initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
