Four Seasons San Stefano at Alexandria, Egypt is seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead and oversee the daily operations of our mega-sized plant. The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in managing large-scale operations, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and other critical systems, to ensure optimal plant performance. In this leadership role, you will manage the Plant Room team, navigate complex challenges, and ensure operational excellence through strategic planning, adaptability, and innovation.
What you will do
Oversee the daily operations of the plant, ensuring that all critical systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, rotary machines, water treatment, and electrical distribution systems are functioning efficiently and safely.
Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal downtime and long-term solutions.
Implement and manage preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, particularly for high priority systems and equipment.
Manage plant performance monitoring, analyze operational data, and identify areas for improvement in system efficiency and safety.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies, adapting strategies as needed to meet changing standards.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mall and residential operators, as well as safety personnel, to address operational challenges and ensure alignment on objectives.
Oversee and manage multiple projects, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and priorities are adjusted based on evolving operational needs.
Lead the development of long-term strategic plans for the plant, integrating new technologies and innovations to enhance productivity and sustainability.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is a must.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Chief Engineer or in a senior engineering management role within a mega-size plant or construction environment is a must.
Strong technical knowledge of plant operations and systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, rotary machines, water treatment, and M.V & L.V distribution and related maintenance procedures.
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop a diverse engineering team.
In-depth understanding of systems sequence of operation and related maintenance procedures.
In-depth understanding of safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex operational challenges.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with owning company, staff, vendors, and management.
Extensive project management experience and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and make critical decisions under pressure.
Adaptability to changing operational conditions, emerging technologies, and evolving regulations.
Proven experience in utilizing and interpreting blueprints.
