Job Purpose:
Responsible for finding quality goods and services at an acceptable and competitive price that would meet the organization’s needs This is to ensure that the components reach the factory on time fashion
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and list recommended/approved international and local suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history
- Issue purchase orders as requested, ensuring timely delivery of the required quantities
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing with suppliers
- Prepare price comparisons to ensure compliance with the agreed contract price
- Ensure that all orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts
- Build relationships with suppliers
- Calculate international freight charges to determine whether the purchase of components is economically feasible
- Track orders, confirm delivery dates and costs on SAP
- Review shortage reports and take the necessary action
- Follow the logistics process with the logistics/follow-up section
- Check the goods/parts upon arrival and contact the supplier in case of discrepancies
- Check the items benchmark in the market as well as the price position for competitors and insert the suitable price for retail, fleets, companies, public, and wholesale departments
- Receive invoices from suppliers and verify them against POs and delivery receipts
- Ensure PO banking documents are received correctly
- Ensure that sea freight shipments are insured and provide the customs clearance department with all shipment documents for release follow-up
- Review and sign off supplier payments according to purchasing regulations and procedures
- Fulfill additional tasks as per job needs
