What You’ll Do
- Inventory Analysis & Cost Management:
- Analyze the car inventory, including the number of vehicles, their refurbishment status, and all associated costs.
- Oversee and manage refurbishment costs, including tracking actual costs against budgeted or estimated costs.
- Ensure refurbishment costs are allocated correctly per car.
- Ensure contract registration costs are allocated correctly per car.
- Record cost of sales (COGS).
- Reconcile refurbishment balance sheet accounts, including refurbishment costs and contract registration costs.
- Refurbishment Team Finance Partner:
- Handle the refurbishment team's requests, including any CAPEX/expense requests, ensuring proper alignment with the budget.
- Coordinate with the refurbishment team to understand the actual costs recorded in job orders and reconcile any variances between the accounting system and the job order costs.
- Analyze variances between the costs booked in the accounting system versus the costs recorded by the engineers in the job orders, investigating the root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve cost control and optimization.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing and presenting financial reports and analysis related to the used car inventory and refurbishment costs.
- Support the decision support function through these financial reports and analyses.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar analytical role, preferably in the automotive or retail industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software.
