JOB PURPOSE:
The PCP Technician is responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of electrical power to critical loads (trains, lighting, A/C, escalators, etc.). This role involves troubleshooting faults, maintaining electrical supply continuity, and ensuring quality work standards. The technician will also manage tools and spare parts, verify the accuracy of reports, and ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures. Additionally, the role includes providing technical guidance to the team, organizing workload distribution, and training newcomers.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Electrical Supply & Fault Management
- Ensure continuous electrical supply to all critical loads, including trains, lighting, A/C, and escalators.
- Diagnose electrical faults, perform troubleshooting actions, and ensure timely resolution to maintain supply continuity.
- Perform necessary tests, verifications, and validations to ensure optimal system performance.
Reporting & Documentation
- Verify the accuracy of reports, documenting any failures and analyzing incident history to ensure precise fault diagnosis.
- Provide detailed records and reports of maintenance activities and incident resolutions.
Workload Distribution & Team Support
- Organize workload distribution according to PCP Supervisor guidelines.
- Offer technical support and guidance to team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Manage workspace planning to ensure timely task completion and a safe working environment.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to newcomers.
- Transfer knowledge to the staff, ensuring they are familiar with operational procedures and technical standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with Quality Assurance procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain traceability of work performed to support audits and compliance checks.
Conflict Prevention & Management
- Work proactively to prevent issues and foster a collaborative team environment.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities are conducted in full compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and workspaces, ensuring the team follows safe practices and guidelines.
- Report safety concerns immediately and collaborate with safety teams to implement corrective actions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Higher education is an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficiency in electricity, mechanics, and electronics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in fault diagnosis.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and technical plans.
- Knowledge of basic electrical safety rules and regulations.
- Skilled in the use of electrical measuring and testing equipment.
- Understanding of general maintenance principles and practices.
- Knowledge of protection principles (e.g., voltage relays, CT, VT).
- Experience with Medium Voltage and Low Voltage equipment.
- Proficiency in handling electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, UPS, batteries, PLCs, control panels, and cables.
- Experience with DC equipment (e.g., CB, rectifiers, protection devices).
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other basic computer programs.
- A valid driving license is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years of experience in substations or related facilities.
- Experience within the railway industry is highly advantageous.
