Role Purpose

Drive excellence in English language education by leading impactful teacher development programmes, ensuring high-quality teaching, and creating engaging, rewarding learning experiences for students. Main Accountabilities:

Teacher Support & Leadership
You will provide effective line management and personal support to teaching staff, ensuring high standards through regular observations, mentoring, and onboarding. You'll play a key role in maintaining teaching quality aligned with British Council standards, while proactively supporting staff well-being and acting as a duty officer when needed.

Professional Development & Teaching Excellence
You will lead and contribute to the design and delivery of annual CPD programmes, mentoring new teachers, and promoting best practices in ELT. As a role model, you’ll facilitate peer learning, share thought leadership, and represent the British Council at local ELT events, driving continuous improvement across the teaching team.

Quality Delivery & Inclusion
You’ll ensure teaching frameworks and policies are embedded across teams, support product development, and manage academic enquiries. You'll champion safeguarding, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) initiatives, ensuring inclusive practices are upheld. By fostering strong relationships with students and stakeholders, you’ll promote the British Council’s cultural relations mission and enrich the learning experience.

Qualifications & Experience

Essentials:

• English Proficiency : CEFR level C2 or IELTS Band 8+ in all four sections of the academic module.
• Teaching Experience : Minimum 4 years post-certificate experience (or equivalent to 2,400 hours).

  • Primary (6–10): 400+ hours
  • Lower Secondary (11–14): 800+ hours
  • Upper Secondary (15–17): 400+ hours
  • University/Vocational (18–25): 400+ hours
  • Adults General English (18+): 800+ hours
• Certification: Recognised diploma in EFL (e.g. DELTA, Trinity Diploma – TEFLQ or equivalent).
• Specialisms : Relevant qualifications such as TYLEC, PGCE/BEd in Primary or subject-specific areas.
• Education : University degree or equivalent.

Desirables:

• Relevant MA/post graduate qualification
• Experience in mentoring newly qualified teachers.
• TYLEC Tutor
• DELTA Local Tutor

• Relocation support is provided for candidates who are not currently residing in the job location.

1- Sterling supplement: 420 GBP per month

2- Settling in allowance and flight ticket + 2 weeks hotel accommodation when they arrive.

3- Housing allowance:

• Unaccompanied: 8000 EGP per month

• Accompanied (one dependent): 9000 EGP per month

• Accompanied (two or more dependents): 10000 EGP per month
