The Technical Repair Engineer is responsible for owning the qualification of new parts, leading all aspects of thermal and cold coating processes for turbine components, and conducting material engineering root cause analysis (RCA) for component failures. This role also includes hands-on metallurgical laboratory work, particularly in the preparation and control of coating samples. The Technical Repair Engineer ensures that all repair and coating activities meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety, supporting continuous improvement and innovation in repair processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the technical qualification process for turbine components, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements.
- Oversee and optimize thermal spray and cold coating processes, conducting analyses of coating quality, adhesion, thickness, and microstructure.
- Perform material failure investigations and root cause analyses, preparing detailed reports with corrective and preventive recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems, industry standards, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and identify opportunities for process improvement and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of qualifications, coating, and laboratory activities, and prepare technical reports, work instructions, and documentation.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in repair engineering, coating processes, or materials engineering, preferably in power generation or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of thermal and cold coating technologies, metallurgical lab techniques, and material failure analysis.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME), with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in technical reporting, written and verbal communication, and collaborating within cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in MS Office and engineering software (e.g., CAD, materials analysis tools).

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
