Regularly monitor the bank's compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and controls through desk monitoring, field visits, and testing procedures to detect potential non-compliance issues.
Support the Compliance Assurance Manager in maintaining the bank's internal procedures and policies compliant with regulations, providing assistance to relevant stakeholders as needed.
Maintain a clear understanding of business transactions and initiatives, coordinating closely with the relationship team while prioritizing risk, regulations, and control issues.
Execute compliance testing and reviews using a risk-based approach, evaluating the effectiveness of compliance controls, identifying weaknesses, and recommending corrective actions.
Aid in developing compliance assurance reports, procedures, and checklists, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This includes conducting regular desk monitoring reviews, maintaining updated review files, and following up on corrective actions.
Investigate compliance breaches to identify root causes and recommend appropriate remediation measures, involving evidence collection, interviews, and documentation.
Collaborate with departments such as Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Business Units to integrate compliance into their processes and address compliance-related concerns.
Assist in preparing comprehensive compliance reports and metrics to provide visibility into the organization's compliance status, including monitoring findings, testing results, and improvement recommendations, shared with management and regulatory authorities as needed.
Work with Internal Audit/internal control departments to support audits by providing documentation, information, and insights related to compliance, and occasionally conducting joint field visits.
2 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field and any related Compliance certifications are considered an asset.
4-8 years of experience in Banking Field, with a minimum 2 years banking experience in a control functions.
Skills:
Excellent command of English and Arabic languages. (written and spoken)
Excellent decision making and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge & understanding of CBE regulations / circulars/ verbal instructions and all applicable related local laws.
Knowledge of AML and Sanctions and other Compliance related standards and practices.
Analytical skills with the ability to develop solutions.
Team player, proactive, cooperative & ability to work under pressure.
Conducting detailed analysis of data, information and situations, performing cause and effect analysis, making effective, timely and fair decisions.
