Mission
Job Purpose:
The Electric Low Voltage Engineer will lead the maintenance activities of the electric low voltage systems for Cairo Metro Line 3. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all assets and systems by supervising daily operations, and maintenance tasks, and ensuring that subcontractors adhere to safety, environmental, and technical standards. Additionally, the role supports ongoing projects related to Building Facility Management, capital investments, sustainability, and commercial ventures.

Responsibilities/Duties
Maintenance Activities
- Conduct regular inspections to assess the condition of assets and identify maintenance needs.
- Schedule and manage routine maintenance tasks for electric low voltage assets, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards to minimize downtime and enhance safety.
- Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are kept in optimum working conditions.
- Assist in defining the spare parts strategy for the maintenance department.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for equipment, assets, and fixtures.
Troubleshooting and Repair
- Manage and supervise repair works on damaged assets (e.g., panels, cabinets, lighting fixtures, sockets, lamp posts, etc.) and electric systems using proper tools and equipment.
- Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Carry out corrective maintenance, quickly identifying and resolving malfunctions.
- Assist in the rehabilitation of existing railway assets to extend their service life and improve safety.
- Perform all necessary installations, inspections, tests, and maintenance as required.
- Analyze and report the condition of assets through detailed assessments and evaluations to determine necessary interventions.
Technical Analysis
- Conduct performance analysis and simulations to optimize system efficiency and functionality.
- Conduct asset condition surveys and monitoring surveys, reporting findings in relevant checklists for condition-based assessment and quality control.
- Respond to system failures by diagnosing root causes and recommending corrective actions to restore functionality.
- Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
Team Management
- Manage electric low voltage technicians and assistant technicians, collaborating with service providers and other engineering disciplines.
Documentation
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and user manuals.
- Track maintenance logs, equipment failures, and corrective actions taken, ensuring accurate record-keeping for future reference.
- Validate and report accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repair works on CMMS systems.
- Analyze and report the condition of railway structures, including recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades.
- Manage team rosters and shifts.
Collaboration
- Interface with operations and maintenance teams to facilitate their activities.
- Work closely with maintenance teams and other technicians to plan and execute maintenance projects.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and policies.
Field Survey and Assessments
- Conduct field surveys and assessments to gather data for engineering studies or project planning.
- Support the implementation of new projects by providing insights into existing infrastructure conditions.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to service calls as part of the emergency response team.
Inspection
- Carry out regular inspections to assess the condition of equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Test operational systems and emergency features to verify functionality.
Quality Assurance
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that all maintenance work meets company standards and industry regulations.
- Continuously assess and improve maintenance techniques to enhance service quality.
Maximo
- Validate and report accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repair works performed on CMMS systems.
- Track maintenance logs, equipment failures, and corrective actions on CMMS platforms.
Safety
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety standards, laws, and regulations.
- Adhere to company-specific safety procedures and industry best practices.
- Oversee the application of safety protocols in maintenance activities, ensuring proper risk assessments are conducted.
- Conduct safety audits and participate in incident investigations to improve safety measures.
- Monitor the worksite and alert Executive Maintenance about any potential safety hazards or non-compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure that safety standards are integrated into all aspects of the role, including inspections, repairs, and emergency responses.
Additional Duties
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work after hours when required.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Power Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge:
- General technical knowledge of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in team management and leadership.
- Experience with CMMS/BMS systems (Maximo preferred).
- Strong communication skills, both in English (fluent in speaking and reading) and Arabic (required).
- Railway system knowledge (optional).
Experience:
- From 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance and project environment.
- Experience in changing management practices.
- Experience with quality improvement methods and initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS/BMS (Maximo preferred).
