💼About the role
Overview: This role requires expertise across all levels of the HR spectrum: operational, tactical, and strategic. This role shall be based out of Cairo and requires working from our Cairo office.
Here’s what we mean by various levels
At the Operational Level, you manage essential HR functions, including
- Hiring, selection process & onboarding,
- Legal compliance,
- Payroll
- Maintaining employee information in our HR systems (Keka & Culture Amp).
- Address ad hoc employee matters as they arise.
- All People & Culture matters that are deemed ‘hygiene’
At the tactical level, you collaborate with the business leaders and managers to implement any People & Culture initiatives, including but not limited to
- Performance Management
- Recruitment and Selection
- Compensation Benchmarking
- Headcount Planning
- Rewards and Recognition
At the strategic level, you partner with the senior leadership to develop and execute strategies aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining talent in the region. Now you will not only be responsible for executing the performance review process with the business leaders, but also be able to rethink the whole approach to ensure it is still suited well enough with the changing Noon Academy. You act as a sounding board for some leaders, you mentor some first-time managers, you are seen as the conscience keeper of the organization.
You will be supported by the people team that includes People Partners and Talent Acquisition Partners in KSA, Egypt, and Pakistan, to carry out the above expectations. Needless to add that you would also be responsible for growing & mentoring this team :)
Going over the Expectations again
- Develop and implement HR policies and practices that support the strategic growth of the business.
- Lead core HR processes across the region (KSA, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq), such as Hiring, Performance Management, Employee recognition, Compensation benchmarking, Promotions etc.
- Coach and partner with managers on HR processes listed above
- Offer HR expertise in feedback, employee relations, development, coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of HR programs, including recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and Learning & Development.
- Design strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
- Hygiene Level Expectations:
- Ensure the accuracy of People Data in HR systems.
- Oversee timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Ensure legal compliance regarding contracts, social insurance, and employee benefits.
- Manage employee grievances and disciplinary proceedings.
What Qualifications could an ideal candidate have
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Having 10 years of experience in human resources, most of which should be within an internet startup
- Strong knowledge (and ability to translate that to outcomes) for key HR functions, including Performance management, OKR implementation, HR systems, Career Ladder and Recruitment.
- Familiarity with local labor laws, particularly in the startup ecosystem; experience in the Saudi labor market is a significant advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to analyze organizational, team, and individual needs to create effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- High ownership and proven ability to independently carry out initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads under tight deadlines.
- Comfort with data interpretation and reporting insights; exposure to talent analytics and people metrics is a plus.
