Overall Purpose of the Job
To ensure the provision of advice to Management on the tax exposure related to their business activities and the strategy to be applied to ensure most effective tax management within location and ensuring total compliance. Supervise the production of timely and accurate documentation to comply with tax authorities requirements.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
- Ensure that the preparation of accurate tax returns within the relevant time periods is actioned
- Coordinate the tax payment process ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Use the Company systems (e.g. SAP and TM1) to assess possible tax exposure cost and ensuring best practices are actioned and ensuring compliance
- Ensure management are provided with information, guidance and best practice on managing tax exposure on their business to ensure most effective tax management
- Liaise with internal departments and tax function internally and externally as and when required to ensure all aspects of tax reporting and compliance are continuously reviewed in line with changes within the tax legislation and company business activity
- Ensure that any queries from any tax authority within area of responsibility are responded to accurately in a timely manner.
- May be required to undertake the management and mentoring of a team
- Liaise with team members, internal and external departments as and when required to ensure all questions and queries are resolved in a timely manner. Liaise with manager on any issues or concerns with the documentation to be processed.
- Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expro’s reputation is minimised. Provide leadership in all ethical issues; ensure employees are aware of Expro’s compliance requirements and feel able to report possible violations or conflicts of interest.
- Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable Quality policies, procedures, processes & systems. Take an active part in quality improvement processes. Act on reported deficiencies and approve deviations from standard procedures as appropriate.
- Ensure that employees adhere to and comply with all applicable Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and processes. Provide leadership in HSE; encourage employees to take responsibility and be accountable for their own and others’ safety and provide an environment where they feel authorised to stop any unsafe job. Ensure that all incidents and non-conformances are reported in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines; ensure that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions raised as required; where appropriate, participates in incident investigations.
- Supervise, mentor and coach direct reports and ensure completion of their Employee Development Plans. Where applicable, ensure that training and competency programs are in place to facilitate the mentoring of subordinates through the competency system. Conduct competency assessments when required.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
1- Degree qualified in a recognise Accounting qualification
2- 7+ years practical experience within a Finance environment
3- Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
4- Management /Leadership experience preferably in a Finance type environment
5- Proficient in SAP or a similar Finance package
