Job Summary:
The Manager – Media QC is responsible for leading the Quality Control team to ensure the highest standards of media content delivery across all platforms. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, people management, operational planning, and quality assurance to maintain service excellence and meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day QC operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of QC tasks.
- Track and analyze individual and team performance metrics to identify trends and performance gaps.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Develop, document, and regularly update SOPs for all QC workflows and processes.
- Ensure consistent implementation and compliance with SOPs across all QC teams.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues.
- Implement corrective action plans where needed.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical inquiries and QC issues.
- Forecast workload and resource requirements based on delivery timelines and incoming projects.
- Optimize team scheduling to maintain operational efficiency and avoid bottlenecks.
- Recommend staffing changes based on business needs.
- Maintain quality KPIs and share insights with senior leadership.
- Prepare and maintain detailed QC checklists for various content types.
- Identify and report any risks, bottlenecks, or deviations from schedule, proposing mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure cross-functional alignment.
- Assess staffing needs and participate in hiring qualified QC operators.
- Conduct technical interviews and skill evaluations for potential hires.
- Develop and lead comprehensive training programs for new and existing QC staff.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in media operations or QC, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is a must.
- Deep knowledge of media formats, codecs, and specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Previous experience in digital content distribution, localization, or media asset management.
- Supervisory experience required.
