POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and results-driven SAT English Teacher to help students improve their performance in the verbal sections of the SAT, including Reading, Writing, and Language. The ideal candidate will have strong command of English grammar, reading comprehension strategies, and standardized test-taking techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective SAT English instruction to students in one-on-one or group settings (in-person or online).
- Teach strategies specific to the SAT Reading and Writing & Language sections, including evidence-based reading, vocabulary in context, grammar rules, and rhetorical skills.
- Diagnose students’ strengths and weaknesses using practice tests and develop customized learning plans.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents (if applicable).
- Assign and review homework, practice tests, and drills to reinforce skills taught in sessions.
- Stay current with any changes to the SAT format and content (including the digital SAT).
- Create or adapt curriculum materials, lesson plans, and exercises to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom or virtual learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Prior experience teaching SAT English or other standardized test prep (ACT, GRE, etc.) is highly preferred .
- Strong understanding of SAT format, scoring, and content areas.
- Exceptional command of English grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying academic levels.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and online teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.), if applicable.
- Experience in curriculum development or test content creation.
- TEFL/TESOL certification or teaching credential is a plus.
