Job Purpose: The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, while overseeing and coordinating the activities of the engineering team. This role will ensure project alignment with the strategic goals of the company and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining project tasks, timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all project requirements and deliverables are met.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a dynamic engineering project team.
- Assign project tasks to team members and oversee their execution.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Act as the primary point of contact for project communication to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Prepare and present regular project status updates, progress reports, and risk assessments.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and manage issue resolution processes.
- Quality Control and Risk Management:
- Ensure all projects adhere to quality standards and meet regulatory compliance requirements.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Implement best practices in project management and engineering processes. (BPM)
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and maintained within allocated budgets.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to ensure the financial viability of project decisions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lessons learned (REX) and improvements in future projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within an engineering environment.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects with a strong understanding of project management methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Fluent in English.
