About this Opportunity
We are seeking a Network Security Planning and Optimization Specialist to play a critical role in designing, implementing, and continually enhancing our network security architecture. This strategic position focuses on aligning security initiatives with business goals, optimizing security controls, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with deep technical expertise in network security and a passion for staying ahead of emerging threats.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain the network security architecture roadmap in alignment with business goals and risk tolerance.
- Design secure network solutions incorporating segmentation, access control, firewalls, IPS, VPNs, and other technologies.
- Review and assess network designs to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigations.
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and development teams to embed security throughout the network lifecycle.
- Continuously improve the performance and efficiency of existing network security controls.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests; propose remediation strategies.
- Analyze logs and alerts from security devices (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs) to detect and respond to threats.
- Optimize security configurations for performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Create and implement security automation tools to streamline operations and incident response.
- Monitor and stay current with network security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Support incident response activities with expert analysis and resolution guidance.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and baseline configurations for network systems.
- Participate in internal and external audits, supplying documentation and justifications for network controls.
- Provide training and raise awareness on network security best practices across teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation for network security designs, procedures, and configurations.
The Skills You Bring
- Over 6 years of experience in network security within the telecommunications industry, including 5+ years in customer-facing roles.
- More than 2 years as a dedicated Network Security Solution Architect, successfully delivering complex solutions.
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of tools and technologies from vendors such as F5, Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet, Cisco ISE, PKI, and DDoS mitigation solutions.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end solution delivery—from design through deployment—across physical, virtual, and hybrid environments.
- Strong consultative and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into tailored security solutions.
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to mentoring and promoting knowledge sharing within technical teams.
- Educational background in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
