Purpose The Senior IT-Operations Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on network engineering. This role combines deep technical expertise in network systems with hands-on experience in server, storage, cloud, and systems administration, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the entire IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Network Engineering (Primary Focus):
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and network services.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VOIP systems.
- Monitor network performance and diagnose issues using advanced tools and techniques.
- Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and inventory.
- Manage and secure network devices (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Huawei).
- Implement and support routing, switching, and security protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VPNs).
- Lead network-related projects and ensure timely delivery and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues and implement mitigation plans.
- IT Operations (Secondary Focus):
- Administer enterprise servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage systems.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure).
- Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam).
- Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file servers.
- Plan and execute system updates, patch management, and maintenance activities.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
- Supervise server room infrastructure (cabling, racks, power, cooling).
- Maintain IT asset documentation and ensure compliance with standards. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering and IT infrastructure.
Certifications:
- CCNA (Required)
- CCNP R&S or Security (Preferred)
- Microsoft, VMware, or cloud certifications are a plus. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Huawei network devices.
- Proficient in routing/switching protocols and network security.
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and automation tools.
