Job Purpose:
Responsible to manage the procurement cycle, optimize inventory levels, and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices This role involves analyzing historical data, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of quality goods The ideal candidate will also work closely with internal teams to ensure inventory health and support technical and field requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, evaluate, and compare the approved suppliers for each item, negotiating the best possible terms for price, delivery timelines, and payment conditions
- Identify new foreign suppliers or partners based on, but not limited to: price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities per the company’s needs and procurement policies Place orders with the selected suppliers and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor the entire process, from order placement to the final receipt of goods
- Inspect incoming goods upon arrival, liaising with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or quality issues identified
- Continuously monitor competitor pricing and market trends
- Provide technical assistance and field support as required, ensuring all raw materials meet the necessary specifications and requirements
- Work closely with the warehouse team to manage inventory, especially slow-moving or dead-stock items, and implement strategies to maintain healthy stock levels
- Handle planned orders, create requisitions for purchased items, and manage the approvals
- Issue purchase orders as requested, ensuring speed, time, and delivery of the required quantities
- Ensure that all orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts
- Calculate international freight charges to determine whether the purchase of the components is economically feasible
- Track orders, confirm delivery dates, and costs on SAP
- Review, update, and track purchase orders until they are fully completed
- Coordinate with the planning department to help achieve the preset production plan
- Review and follow up on all foreign purchasing orders requested by all concerned parties/departments Monitor and trace shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and follow up on undelivered goods
- Trace and control costs of purchase materials and ensure achievement of all targets
- Oversee all purchase requests and evaluate all inventory and specifications, maintain stock, and prepare contract billing
- Ensure accuracy of the PO banking documents
- Ensure that sea freight shipments are insured
- Provide the customs clearance department with all the necessary shipping documents
- Perform other tasks as required by the department or organization
Job Skills and Abilities:
- Basic technical knowledge of the products being procured
- Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with suppliers
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams to foster collaboration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline 3-5 years of experience
- Fluent English language is a must
